Arts and crafts, baking, story time and trips out to the library, the museum and art gallery, there’s always something fun to do in Liz’s home-based programme!
After staying home with her own children and helping out neighbours with childcare, Liz decided that becoming a Home-Based Educator would be her perfect job. She has been in the role for over twenty-five years and has a kind and loving approach.
Following some settling in time, the daily programme gets underway with a fun activity like playdough, kinetic sand or outdoor play. The children enjoy morning tea together before listening to a story or enjoying free play. After lunch, it’s time for younger children to have a rest while the older children get stuck into a special activity.
Liz’s programme has a good mix of structured learning and relaxed play. Children are encouraged to challenge themselves and try new experiences within a safe and supportive environment. They learn valuable social skills as part of a close group and form strong friendships with the other children in the home-based programme.
